Shawn is a former principal of an ArtsNow Teaching and Learning Laboratory School and currently serves as a principal in the Barrow County School System at the Center for Innovative Teaching (CFIT) leading the Arts and Innovation Magnet (AIM) program. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Middle Grade Education, and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of Georgia. During the 24 years of her educational career she taught 4th and 5th grade gifted students, 8th grade language arts, and served as an assistant principal. She is currently the President of the Georgia Association of Elementary Principals. Shawn lives in Bogart, GA and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
