A colorful flyer titled "Where Creativity Meets Career" promotes 175+ career opportunities in arts and academics. Icons represent Dance, Visual Arts, Theatre & Drama, Music, and STEAM as career paths.

ArtsNOW is grateful to receive support from The Joanna Foundation to continue strengthening arts-integrated instruction at Henry E. Bonner Elementary School in Berkeley County, South Carolina.

ArtsNOW has partnered with H.E. Bonner since 2023, providing professional learning, in-class demonstration lessons, and collaborative planning to build a strong foundation for arts-integrated instruction. This new support from The Joanna Foundation allows ArtsNOW to build on that momentum by going deeper with individualized coaching that meets teachers’ specific needs and strengthens classroom practice over time.

This investment will support five digital coaching sessions for H.E. Bonner educators, helping teachers design and implement standards-aligned lessons that connect core academic content with dance, music, theatre, and visual arts. Each coaching session is designed to produce classroom-ready results. Teachers will work alongside ArtsNOW consultants to plan arts-integrated lessons aligned with South Carolina standards, explore strategies for implementation, and reflect on student engagement, instructional choices, and next steps. Sessions will also be recorded so teachers can revisit the work, reflect on their practice, and continue building confidence beyond the coaching experience.

“We are deeply grateful to The Joanna Foundation for investing in the educators and students of H.E. Bonner Elementary,” said Pamela Walker, President and CEO of ArtsNOW. “This support allows us to continue building teacher capacity in a way that is practical, sustainable, and directly connected to student learning. When teachers are equipped with creative, effective strategies, classrooms become more engaging places for students to think, connect, and grow.”

ArtsNOW’s work in South Carolina continues to expand through strong partnerships with schools, districts, the South Carolina Arts Commission, Arts Grow SC, and philanthropic supporters who believe in the power of arts-integrated learning. With support from The Joanna Foundation, ArtsNOW will continue helping educators bring learning to life at H.E. Bonner Elementary and beyond.
