Administrator on Special Assignment
Les Conley is very excited to be part of the ArtsNow team after working 36 years in public education, most recently as an Administrator on Special Assignment with the Cherokee County School District, serving as Project Director for the AEMDD “ArtsNow Impact” Grant. Prior to that, he was principal at Oak Grove Elementary School-Fine Arts Academy in Acworth, GA- one of the first Fine Arts Academies in the district. In the first year as a Fine Arts Academy, Oak Grove students attained the highest math scores on the CRCT of any academy in the district, including four STEM academies. Prior to opening the Academy, Mr. Conley served as principal at Boston Elementary in Woodstock, GA, which was honored as a “Title I Reward School for Highest Performance”- a distinction given to the top 5% of all Title I schools in Georgia based on student achievement. Mr. Conley’s first assignment as principal was at Free Home Elementary in Canton, GA- a school which earned the “Platinum Award for Greatest Gains” by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement under his leadership.
