Administrator on Special Assignment
Les Conley has worked 36 years in public education, most recently as an Administrator on Special Assignment with the Cherokee County School District serving as the Project Director for the AEMDD “ArtsNow Impact” Grant. Prior to that, he served as principal at Oak Grove Elementary School-Fine Arts Academy in Acworth, GA- one of the first Fine Arts Academies in the District. In its first year as a Fine Arts Academy, Oak Grove students attained the highest Math scores on the CRCT of any academy in the District, including four STEM academies. Prior to opening the Academy, Mr. Conley served as principal at Boston Elementary in Woodstock, GA, which was honored as a “Title I Reward School for Highest Performance”- a distinction given to the top 5% of all Title I schools in Georgia based on student achievement. Mr. Conley’s first assignment as principal was at Free Home Elementary in Canton, GA. Free Home ES was a recipient of the “Platinum Award for Greatest Gains” by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement.
